Card 1: Advance Notification of Gas Works
To improve the gas supply in your street we will be replacing natural gas mains in your area.
Dear Resident,
Australian Gas Networks Ltd, the owner of the natural gas distribution network, is replacing its old gas mains so that it can continue to deliver gas at high standards of safety and reliability.
We are now commencing the replacement of gas mains in your area. This involves excavation work on the footpath or road in front of your home.
Also, if you are connected to gas our crew will need access to your property and around your gas meter to undertake this work, which will involve turning off your gas supply for a number of hours during the day. You will receive one day’s notice of this interruption to supply. When the work is completed, we will relight your appliances and surfaces that have been disturbed will be permanently repaired as soon as possible, (usually within 30 days).
Our crews are committed to keeping disruptions to a minimum. If you have any concerns or would like further information please speak to any member of our crew on site.
As safety is our first priority, this upgrade includes a safety test of your gas pipework – that is the gas piping from the gas meter to your appliances. If the test indicates a gas leak is present in your pipework, we are required to leave the gas supply disconnected.
If supply is disconnected due to a leak in your gas pipework, you will need to arrange repair of the leak, at your cost, with a licensed gasfitter/ plumber of your choice.
Following repair of the leak, the gas supply can be reconnected by the gasfitter/plumber.
