Card 2: Notification of Gas Works
Notification of gas supply interruption – Gas mains replacement
Dear Gas Consumer,
As previously advised, Australian Gas Networks Ltd, the owner of the natural gas distribution network, is in the process of replacing the gas mains in your area. This work involves excavation work on the footpath or road and around your gas meter. It will be necessary for our workers to gain access to your property and gas meter to undertake this work.
Please note that the gas supply to your area will be turned off on:
Date: __________
Estimated interruption time: __________to __________
If you are at home when this work is completed, we will relight your appliances. If you are not at home, another card will be left with details of how to relight your appliances and who to contact if you are unable to do so.
Any surfaces disturbed will be permanently repaired as soon as possible (usually within 30 days).
Our crews are committed to keeping disruptions to a minimum. If you have any concerns or would like further information please speak to any member of our crew on site.
Please kindly ensure that all pets are safely secured during our crews' presence on-site to ensure the safety of both your beloved pets and our team. As safety is our first priority, this upgrade includes a safety test of your gas pipework – that is the gas piping from the gas meter to your appliances. If the test indicates a gas leak is present in your pipework, we are required to leave the gas supply disconnected.
If supply is disconnected due to a leak in your gas pipework, you will need to arrange repair of the leak, at your cost, with a licensed gasfitter of your choice. Following repair of the leak, the gas supply can be reconnected by your gasfitter.
