Free connection from street main to home 

Australian Gas Networks (AGN) is offering free street connection to existing homes where a gas main runs past the property, PLUS a $500 connection bonus to first-time gas customers who also install a natural gas hot water system, natural gas flued space heater, or natural gas ducted central heater (see below for Terms and Conditions).


Two great offers, and two great reasons to connect to gas now.

Free connection (from main to proprety):

  • Includes all labour, materials and pipework for a standard connection (subject to property conditions) to a residential home, from the gas main in the street up to and including the installation of the gas meter, in networks owned by AGN and where a gas main runs past the house. This offer does not cover the cost of the outlet service or appliance installation. The 'outlet service' is the pipework running from the gas meter to appliance.
  • To check whether your address is part of the natural gas network owned by AGN,  use our online tool or call our Customer Service Team on 1300 001 001 (contact hours: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm AEST). 

$500 connection bonus:

Connection bonus is claimable for customers in existing homes (not new home builds) that:

1)  Connect to natural gas for the first time between 1 January 2019 and 13 December 2019; AND

2)  Install at least ONE of the following natural gas appliances: hot water, ducted central heating or hydronic heating, flued space heating. Additional rebates are available for these appliances (find out more).

  • Offer is open only to households connected to the network owned by AGN. Check if your postcode is eligible.
  • There is a limit of one connection bonus per household.
  • Connection bonus and other natural gas appliance rebates are claimable via participating rebate suppliers (use this directory to find rebate suppliers near you) OR you can make a direct claim for these yourself using AGN's cashback website.
  • Reconnections do not qualify.
